Some friends of mine suggested that I start this blog because I was in the habit of sending them new youtube links to listen to.  And invariably, the singers or musicians whom I sent would be Golden Age Opera Singers who were long dead.  I tend to listen to musicians of the past, and, typically, I find that very few people today recognize their names any longer.  It is my goal to help to familiarize today’s music lovers with names and performances of those from what is called the Golden Age of Opera.  Now, there really wasn’t a Golden Age, but the number of astounding and transcending performances, and the art of singing, playing, and conducting was quite different from what we have today.  I will not ignore instrumentalists, but the site is focused on Golden Age European Opera Singers. I hope that you will enjoy these performances as much as I will enjoy sharing them with you.
